To celebrate the strong links between Liverpool and Ireland the annual Liverpool Irish Festival will be taking place between 20th October and 12th November.
Van Morrison will be launching the festival with two gigs at the Philharmonic Hall on October 20th and 21st.

Apart from the Grand National 'Intercasino RaceDay' on 21st October is Aintree's only other Saturday race meet. The six competitive races on the card start at 1.10pm, gates open at 11.00am.

Staying with the horseracing theme, the inaugral running of the North West Masters will provide visitors to the North West with the opportunity to watch an abundance of quality horse racing at two of the UK's premier race courses, Haydock Park (18th November) & Aintree (19th November).
After watching some of the finest racing in the UK on Saturday 18th November you will then be entertained by the huge free North West Masters celebratory party in St. Helen's town centre.
